The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Head Coach for the upcoming AIHL season.
This role is suited to a coach who wants to:
Lead a high‑profile AIHL club with genuine championship ambitions
Implement a clear identity and professional systems of play
Work in a competitive, performance‑driven environment
Be fully accountable for on‑ice results and team standards
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and Game Performance
Lead all on‑ice coaching activities across the AIHL season
Design and implement structured, modern systems of play
Plan and deliver two high‑quality team training sessions per week
Coach and manage approximately two games per week
Work hand in hand with assistant coaches and Mgmt to put the best possible product on the ice
Leadership and Culture
Set clear expectations, standards, and behaviours
Build trust and alignment within the locker room
Lead decisively while remaining open to feedback and collaboration
Represent the club professionally at all times
Strategy and Preparation
Develop and communicate a clear vision and plan for the season
Conduct detailed video analysis and review sessions
Prepare tactical game plans and opposition analysis
Make in‑game and season‑long adjustments to drive performance
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience coaching at a professional or elite level
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through full competitive seasons
Strong tactical understanding of modern hockey
Excellent communication and leadership capability
Confidence managing high expectations and pressure
A winning mindset aligned with a top‑level club environment
