Post a job

About the role

The Rochester Americans, the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, are hiring a part-time Business Operations Intern for the 2026-2027 season. The intern reports to the Director of Game Presentation and splits the job between home game nights and office projects.

On game nights you work with the Amerks game presentation and promotions team. That covers on-ice and off-ice promotions, anthems and color guard, pre-game and post-game ceremonies, intermission entertainment, giveaways, and mascot duties. You greet fans at the doors, answer their questions, and lead chants and cheers in the stands.

Outside game nights you help with projects in ticket operations, marketing, business development, public and community relations, game operations, and creative services. The club also runs monthly professional development workshops for interns, an optional mentor program, job shadowing across departments, and resume and mock interview help.

The posting lists pay of $16 an hour. You must attend every home game and special event for the whole season, work weekday office hours as needed, and be free for nights, weekends, and holidays. The office is at 100 Exchange Boulevard in Rochester.

Responsibilities

  • Run in-arena promotions, ceremonies, intermission acts, and giveaways at every Amerks home game
  • Greet fans as they arrive and leave, and answer their questions on game nights
  • Lead crowd chants and cheers, with and without the team mascot
  • Handle pre-game setup, in-game tasks, and post-game wrap-up with the game presentation crew
  • Help other departments with game-day tasks and with events away from the arena
  • Support office projects in ticketing, marketing, community relations, and creative services

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old and enrolled in an associate, bachelor's, or master's program
  • Able to attend every home game and special event for the full Amerks season
  • Available for weekday office hours plus nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable getting a crowd loud and talking with fans of all ages
  • Organized and able to work alone or on a team
  • Able to lift and move boxes of up to 20 pounds
