About the role

Oak View Group is hiring a part-time Casual Utility Worker for PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The job is on the conversion crew, working under the department lead to switch the building between hockey and other events and to keep up general maintenance.

On event work you put in and take out the dasher boards for hockey, and set up staging and chairs for concerts and family shows and the floor for basketball. Outside, you clear snow with a plow truck and forklift in winter and look after the grounds in summer by mowing, weeding, and trimming.

The rest of the job is repairs and upkeep around the building, painting, and general labour, using the work order system and following OSHA and NFPA safety codes.

Shifts run on the event schedule and you must be free between 10 pm and 7 am, with weekends and some holidays. The posting lists pay of $20.97 an hour under the union agreement, and you join the union by invitation after a 90 day probation. Applications close December 31, 2026.
