Director, People & Culture

Oak View Group is hiring a Director, People & Culture at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the AHL. The job covers HR for staff of both the AHL team and the arena.

The role runs recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and payroll, including changes to compensation such as bonuses, commissions, and raises. You also write and update company policies, keep wage and salary structures current, and track federal, state, and local employment law.

Managers will come to you for advice on employee relations, and you handle complex cases and investigations yourself. You lead the People & Culture team, plan staff events and meetings, and work with Oak View Group's corporate HR group to keep policies consistent.

The salary is $110,000 to $120,000 a year and the job is bonus eligible. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with a company match, paid time off, and 11 holidays. The posting stays open until February 5, 2027.

• Manage recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and performance reviews for team and arena staff
• Process company payroll, including bonuses, commissions, and raises
• Advise managers and investigate complex employee relations cases
• Write, update, and enforce company policies and procedures
• Keep wage and salary structures up to date
• Track employment law changes and train managers on what they need to do
• Lead the People & Culture team and plan staff events and meetings

• Five to seven years of experience managing human resources
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of California labor law
• Able to work on your own and partner with executives and department heads
• SHRM, SPHR, or a similar certification is preferred
