About the role
The Buffalo Sabres organization is hiring a manager to run its online store and support merchandise operations at KeyBank Center. The role sits between digital retail and the physical merchandise side, so it touches inventory, event sales, and customer service as well as the website.
On the online side, you look after the Shopify store: the product catalog, site navigation, merchandising, and the setup and testing of product drops, promotions, and high-traffic sales. You track web metrics and sales reports and set benchmarks for the store.
On the merchandise side, you run weekly and monthly inventory counts, help with event-day retail setups and breakdowns and vendor shipments, and fix weak points in the inventory and fulfillment process. You handle customer questions and complaints from both channels, work with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, and Finance, and help train part-time staff.
The work is split between the office and live events, so nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the schedule. The posted salary is $62,353.20 to $65,000 a year. Sabres staff benefits listed on the posting include complimentary tickets to Sabres games.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Shopify online store, including the catalog, navigation, and merchandising

- Support event retail setups, breakdowns, and vendor shipments
- Answer customer questions and complaints from online and in-person sales
- Work with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, and Finance on joint projects
- Help train and develop part-time merchandise staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or retail management preferred, or equivalent experience
- Two to three years of relevant industry experience
- Working knowledge of Shopify or a retail point-of-sale and inventory system, plus Microsoft Office
- Strong written and spoken communication
- Organized and able to manage several projects against deadlines
- Available for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to lift and move boxes of merchandise up to 50 pounds
