Post a job

About the role

The Florida Panthers are hiring a full-time Electrician for the Panthers IceDen, the team's community rink in Coral Springs. The job sits in the facilities and engineering team and reports to the Operations Manager.

The electrician installs, maintains, and repairs the building's electrical systems. That covers rink and parking lot lighting, power distribution, panels and breakers, backup power, life safety circuits, and the electrical side of the ice plant and refrigeration system. You work with the mechanical staff when a compressor, pump, or control circuit gives trouble.

Service calls come in ahead of and during public skating, hockey programs, and tournaments, and events often need temporary power for audio and production gear. You keep records of repairs and panel schedules and bring in outside contractors for larger or permitted jobs.

The position is hourly, year round, and on site. The schedule moves with the rink's programs, so evening, weekend, and holiday work is part of it. The posting does not list a pay rate.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, panels, and circuits across the rinks, mechanical rooms, and public areas
  • Support the electrical needs of the ice plant and refrigeration system with the mechanical staff
  • Inspect and maintain distribution equipment, transformers, breakers, and emergency power
  • Answer service calls before and during public skates, hockey programs, and tournaments
  • Run temporary power for audio, video, and production equipment at events
  • Keep repair records and panel schedules current and work to NEC, OSHA, and local codes

Requirements

  • Three or more years as a licensed or journeyman electrician, ideally in commercial, industrial, or venue work
  • A valid state electrician licence, or able to obtain one
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local building codes
  • Able to read schematics, panel schedules, and safety data sheets
  • Experience with rink, refrigeration, or industrial mechanical electrical systems is a plus
  • Able to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs
  • A high school diploma and a clean background check
