About the role
MLSE is hiring a winter term intern for the Event Operations team at Scotiabank Arena, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors. The term runs from January 4 to April 23, and the intern reports to the Senior Manager, Event Operations.
The arena has an operations handbook that sets out how the building gets ready for a game. The intern turns that handbook into drawings: AutoCAD maps of back of house areas, storage rooms, corridors, staging areas, and where equipment sits before Leafs and Raptors games, including how the two set-ups differ.
Much of the work happens on foot. The intern walks the building with venue services, fan services, security, and food and beverage staff, checks each drawing against what actually happens on event day, and fixes the gaps. The finished maps go into a shared library used for planning, training new staff, and running events.
The role suits a student in architecture, engineering, facility management, construction management, or a related program who is confident in AutoCAD. MLSE lists a compensation range of 34,500 to 45,800 CAD.
