About the role
The City of New Hope, Minnesota, is hiring a seasonal Zamboni driver for the New Hope Ice Arena. The job reports to the facility supervisor and keeps both the ice and the building in good shape.
Your main task is resurfacing the ice on the posted schedule and doing other ice maintenance as assigned. The rest of the shift is building care: cleaning locker rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, bleachers, and hallways, restocking, shovelling and salting the sidewalks and exits, and helping close the building at night.
You also deal with the public, answering questions and sorting out small problems, and you tell the supervisor about anything wrong with the building or the equipment.
The city asks for applicants who are 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent, experience driving an ice resurfacer, experience sharpening skates, and a general knowledge of how an ice arena runs. You need to work nights and weekends in the cold and pass a BCA background check. A Minnesota driver's license is preferred. Pay is $15 to $18 an hour.
