Ice Crew

Oak View Group runs Enmarket Arena in Savannah, the 9,500-seat home of the ECHL's Savannah Ghost Pirates, and is hiring part-time ice crew. The crew sets up the hockey rink for games and events and takes it down again between them.

On game nights you prepare the ice sheet with the Zamboni driver, drill the peg holes and set the nets, and shovel snow between periods. You lay out carpets and runners for anthem singers and on-ice promotions, clean the glass before games, and help with repairs to the dasher boards and rink glass.

Away from game nights the work covers installing and removing the ice, putting in dashers and glass, setting the rink up for youth skates and college hockey, and routine maintenance on the Zambonis and edgers, including blade changes. The crew can also be sent to other OVG buildings in Savannah, such as Port Wentworth Ice Cove.

Pay is $15 to $19 an hour, and part-time staff can join a 401(k) plan with matching. The posting stays up until 31 December 2026.

• High school diploma or trade school certificate
• Able to skate with your own skates, including starting, stopping, and turning
• Able to lift heavy objects and work on wet or slippery surfaces
• Available early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge of NHL, AHL, and ECHL rink standards and rules
• Experience with hockey facilities and ice installation preferred
