About the role

Oak View Group runs PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, home of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, and is hiring a part-time ice resurfacer driver. The ice has to meet NHL standards, so this job suits someone who already knows how to run a resurfacer and look after a sheet.

You drive the resurfacer and the edger on ordinary days and on event days, and you help make and maintain the ice. You change the blades, service the machine after each resurface, and check ice depth on a regular schedule. Before resurfacing you look over the dasher boards and glass. You also fill in the resurfacer and ice logs and a game day checklist.

Drivers work with other departments ahead of ice events, help install and remove the ice, and teach newer operators about ice care and Zamboni driving.

The pay is $30 an hour, and part-time staff get a 401(k) plan with a company match. Hours can be long and irregular, with nights, weekends, and holidays. The posting stays up until December 31, 2026.
