About the role
Monumental Sports & Entertainment, owner of the Washington Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics and of Capital One Arena, is hiring a Junior Videographer. The role shoots, edits, and helps produce video for every Monumental property, with most of the work on sports content.
On a normal week you might film a game, a documentary-style feature, a player interview, or a behind-the-scenes piece, then cut highlights and quick-turn clips in Premiere. You help senior videographers set up network-style interviews, including green screen shoots, and you look after the camera kit and its storage.
You work with Monumental's production and post-production teams and with the network, digital, and communications departments to get content delivered on time, taking priorities from your supervisors.
Monumental asks for a bachelor's degree and at least a year in content production, with strong Premiere editing and experience across multi-camera field shoots, wired and wireless audio, and lighting. You need to carry 40 lbs of gear, travel, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The posted pay range is $65,000 to $80,000, and the role is eligible for health and welfare benefits.
Responsibilities
- Shoot games, events, interviews, and documentary or reality-style features, mostly sports content
- Edit videos and highlights in Premiere, including quick-turn clips
- Help other videographers set up and shoot network-style interviews, including green screen
- Work with production, post-production, network, digital, and communications teams to deliver content
- Operate several camera systems and keep equipment maintained and stored properly
- Plan workload with supervisors to hit deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least one year of experience in content production
- Strong Premiere editing skills and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Field production experience with multiple cameras, wired and wireless audio, and lighting
- Able to carry 40 lbs of equipment and to travel
- Available evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
