About the role
Oak View Group is hiring part-time laborers for the overnight conversion crew at UBS Arena at Belmont Park, home of the New York Islanders. OVG runs the arena, and this crew turns the building over from one event to the next.
The work is physical. Between events the crew resets the arena floor, the seating layout, and the concourses to match whatever is booked next, whether that is an Islanders game or a concert. Tasks change through the night, so you move from one job to another as the supervisor directs.
Shifts run overnight, from 10pm to 7am. The pay is $23.75 an hour under the union agreement, and benefits follow that agreement too. The posting stays up until December 31, 2026.
The arena is on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, about 30 minutes from Penn Station or Grand Central on the LIRR.
Responsibilities
- Reconfigure the arena floor, seating, and concourses between events
- Lift and move heavy equipment and stay on your feet for long stretches
- Switch between tasks through the shift as the crew lead assigns them
- Finish assigned work on time and follow the arena's operating procedures
- Keep patron, staff, and company information confidential
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous conversion or changeover experience
- Available for overnight shifts from 10pm to 7am
- Able to lift heavy objects and push, pull, reach, and drag equipment
- Can read and write well enough for workplace instructions
- Reliable attendance and clear communication with the crew
