About the role
OC Sports & Entertainment, the company behind the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center, is hiring a Lead Audio Engineer. The role leads the team of audio technicians who handle sound at Honda Center and its related event spaces, from Ducks home games and select concerts to restaurants, clubs, outdoor venues, and live production shoots.
You are responsible for the venue's interior and exterior audio systems, including the arena intercom and communications systems: running them, maintaining and repairing them, staffing them, and keeping the equipment inventory in order. On event days you monitor live mixes while taking cues from production, coordinate with visiting vendors and television broadcast trucks, and fix problems as they come up.
Away from the mixing desk you plan audio projects, scope requirements with clients and event managers, support the video team with pre and post production audio, manage wireless frequency coordination, and mentor technicians and junior engineers.
The job is full time and on site in Anaheim, with a schedule that can include weekends, holidays, split shifts, late nights, and overnights. The posted starting rate is $45.50 to $52.50 an hour.

- Lead audio operations for events ranging from the 17,000-seat arena to small hospitality spaces
- Run, maintain, and repair interior and exterior audio systems, including arena intercom and communications

- Lead and mentor audio technicians and junior engineers
- Coordinate with event vendors and television broadcast trucks on audio and communications needs
- Support video production with pre, live, and post production audio
- Manage radio-frequency coordination for wireless audio
Requirements
- At least five years of live-event audio engineering experience, ideally in an arena, venue, or broadcast setting
- Experience leading or directing audio technicians is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Yamaha CL5 consoles or similar, plus Dante, MADI, and Q-SYS
- Proficiency with Riedel communications systems
- Understanding of emergency notification and assistive listening systems
- Able to work a flexible schedule and lift up to 50 pounds
