About the role

OCVIBE, the Anaheim development that includes Honda Center, home of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks, is hiring a full-time manager of event security. The employer is OC Sports & Entertainment. The manager runs security for events at Honda Center and other OCVIBE venues and works on site.

Before an event you plan the security operation around the attendance and risk, check the pre-event list, and brief staff. You hire, train, schedule, and supervise event security personnel, and you make sure bag screening, metal detection, and credential checks run properly. You also work out staffing levels with police and emergency responders.

During events you watch for risks and respond to incidents, including crowd problems, medical calls, and evacuations. You are the main security contact for promoters and touring staff, and for NHL representatives when a game is on. Afterward you write up incidents and lead the debrief.

The manager works with the Senior Manager of Security Operations, and with Guest Services, Operations, and Risk Management. The salary range in California is $100,000 to $130,000 a year. Evening, weekend, and holiday work follows the event schedule.
