About the role

Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, is hiring a full-time coach to run its men's ice hockey club. The college added NCAA Division III men's hockey for the 2026-27 season, and this coach leads the club team while also helping the varsity program and its head coach.

You run the club from top to bottom: practices, game plans, scouting reports, and coaching every game. You build the recruiting plan, get to know high school, junior, prep, and club coaches, and work to keep players on the roster once they arrive.

There is plenty of administration. You set the schedule with the Director of Athletics, book travel and transport, work with off-campus rinks and vendors, look after equipment and uniforms, and manage the team budget. You are also expected to raise money through sponsors, alumni, camps, and clinics, and to keep an eye on players' grades.

Albright asks for a bachelor's degree, hockey coaching experience, and the ability to recruit and mentor college players, plus a valid driver's license and availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and road trips. College, junior, prep, or high school coaching experience and budget or fundraising experience are preferred. The role is full time and year round. Pay is not listed in the posting.
