About the role

The Sensplex Facilities, the community rinks run by an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, need a full-time Operations Supervisor at the Bell Sensplex on Maple Grove Road in Ottawa. There is one opening, and it replaces an existing position.

The supervisor runs the building day to day and leads the facility operators and custodial staff. The work covers ice making and ice maintenance, the refrigeration plant, HVAC, lighting, sound, the scoreboard, and fire and safety systems. You also set up the building for programs and events and take it down again afterwards.

You report to the Arena and Facility Manager at the Bell Sensplex. Patrons can come to you with a problem at any point in your shift, and you help the program coordinator with requests from user groups. The schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The posted salary range is $49,500 to $75,900 a year, with health, dental, and retirement benefits, tuition support, staff tickets, and free parking on site.

  • Lead the facility operators and custodial staff on each shift
  • Make and maintain the ice and look after the refrigeration plant and HVAC systems

  • Keep the Bell Sensplex in line with Ontario health and safety rules
  • Track the inventory of equipment, furniture, and supplies
  • Help with annual maintenance projects

  • At least two years as a supervisor in a recreation facility
