About the role
The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on an intern for their Media Relations team, hired through Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. It is a student placement that sits mostly with the club's media relations staff, with time lent to the Hockey Operations department when it needs an extra pair of hands.
Much of the work happens on game nights. You help set up the press box, keep game notes current, handle credential requests, hand out stats, and help run the Media Centre while reporters are in the building. Between games you help write, update, and send out the documents that the media and Leafs staff use to cover the team.
There is a real office side to the role as well: answering email and walk-up questions, sorting mail and shipping, ordering supplies, keeping the department storage room in order, and covering office needs at both Scotiabank Arena and the Ford Performance Centre, the team's practice rink.
The posting asks for availability at every Maple Leafs home game, which includes weekends and holidays. MLSE lists the role as full time with pay of $38,760.
