About the role
Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is hiring a part-time Prep Cook for its culinary team, with the job tied to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Part of the work is helping the kitchen with the daily food prep for Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies practices.
The rest is kitchen support. You keep pots, pans, trays, china, cutlery, and glassware clean, sanitized, and ready to use, and you make sure the cooks have the product, supplies, and clean equipment they need. Deliveries are part of it too: receiving stock and putting it away in the right place.
Cleaning duties include sweeping and mopping, wiping down counters and shelves, and taking out recycling and waste. You will handle cleaning chemicals under WHMIS rules and follow MLSE health and safety standards.
MLSE asks for at least three years in a high-volume kitchen and some culinary training. Experience with batch cooking and large-scale food production matters, and a basic grasp of sports nutrition helps. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The posted rate is $22 to $24 an hour.
