About the role

The Senators Spring AAA Hockey Development club is hiring non-parent head coaches for its teams. SSHD runs a spring program for competitive and elite players built on on-ice skill development, off-ice athleticism training, and individual and team tactics, all delivered by professional coaches.

Coaches report to the club's Head of Hockey Operations and the Club Head Coach. The commitment begins as early as January with player evaluation, recruitment, and season planning, then becomes a full coaching workload from late March through the middle of June. More than one coach is being hired.

The club is looking for someone who can run a demanding competitive program while keeping it a fun, safe environment, and who is comfortable managing assistant coaches, trainers, and team managers as well as communicating regularly with parents.

The posting adds two details: the role is affiliated with the Sensplex organization but is not directly employed by the Ottawa Senators or Sensplex, and the application deadline is 1 March 2027. Pay is a flat $1,500 for the length of the term.
