About the role
Oak View Group runs Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, home of the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds. It is hiring part-time trainers to teach beginners to skate in the arena's entry-level classes.
Trainers teach groups of children and adults through the Learn-to-Skate Program, the Home School Program, community classes, and skating camps. Birthday party lessons and promotional drop-in lessons are part of the job too. Classes follow the facility's curriculum, which is based on Learn-to-Skate USA from U.S. Figure Skating.
You fill in class forms and skater evaluations, give skaters feedback, and recommend when someone is ready to move up a level. Trainers also help in higher-level classes when needed, and at recitals and public theme skates.
The pay is $20 an hour, and part-time staff get a 401(k) plan with a company match. The posting stays up until December 31, 2026.
