About the role
The City of Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks Department needs aides for its skating lessons at the Community Activity Center, 5600 85th Avenue North. The city lists three openings for the season.
Aides help run the lessons under the Community Activity Center facility coordinator. The work is on the ice with participants: starting sessions on time, applying skating rules, keeping the group on the lesson plan, and keeping order. Aides also report any incidents and help fill out the reports.
This is a seasonal job at fewer than 20 hours a week. Shifts are mostly evenings with some weekend hours, and you will spend several hours at a time in rink temperatures of 32 to 50 degrees. The city lists pay of $14.20 to $16.39 an hour.
You need to be at least 14 and have skated before. The posting stays open until the jobs are filled, and the city suggests applying early because it can close without notice. Speaking Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali, Lao, or Vietnamese is listed as a plus.
