Videographer/Editor

The San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, are hiring a part-time Videographer/Editor. The person in this job shoots and edits the team's video, from the Gulls All Access series to social clips, promo spots, broadcast pieces, and video for the screens in the arena.

A typical week can include filming practice, player interviews, games, and community events, then cutting the footage, correcting colour, and mixing audio before it goes out. You plan each project from the first idea to final delivery and cut each version to fit the platform it is going to.

You will work with the public relations, broadcast, marketing, and game operations staff, and you look after the cameras, lights, and audio kit used in the studio, at the arena, and on location. Keeping the footage library organised is part of the job.

The role is on site in San Diego. It pays $25 an hour to start, and the hours include nights, weekends, and holidays, with every Gulls home game.

• Film practices, games, player interviews, and community events
• Edit video for Gulls All Access, social media, marketing campaigns, broadcast, and the arena screens
• Take each project from planning and filming through editing, colour correction, audio mixing, and delivery
• Work with public relations, broadcast, marketing, and game operations on video ideas
• Operate and look after cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in the studio, arena, and field
• Catalogue footage and digital files so the team can find them later

• A degree in film production, broadcasting, communications, or a related field, or equal work experience
• At least two years of professional videography or video editing experience
• Strong Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects skills, with colour correction and audio editing
• A portfolio or demo reel is preferred
• Sports content experience is preferred, and hockey content experience is a plus
• Available nights, weekends, holidays, and every Gulls home game
