About the role
Madison Square Garden Sports is hiring on-ice instructors for the Junior Rangers program, the New York Rangers' youth hockey initiative. Instructors teach players aged 4 to 14 at partner rinks across the tri-state area, including New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, and upstate New York.
Sessions follow USA Hockey's American Development Model. Beyond the on-ice teaching, instructors are the face of the program at their rinks: they keep Rangers branding and materials current, work toward registration and retention targets, build relationships with rink staff and partner coaches, and act as the main point of contact for families. Instructors also oversee assistant instructors and coordinate with on-site event staff.
The role is part-time and seasonal, paid at $22 per hour, and requires your own transportation since travel between rinks is part of the job. It fits a current or former player or coach who enjoys working with young players and wants a connection to an NHL organization's community programs.
Applications are made through the MSG Sports careers page.
